January 12 & 13, 2009

Its been a crazy couple of days which is why I am putting two weekdays together.

Monday: Would you believe I woke up at 8. So proud of myself. Really made an effort to get up and start my day. Turned out I ended up stuck at home all day while Mat ran errands and Denice and my mom were out. So much for running errands. So while working in natural light I decided to photograph my morning routine. All you'll get to see is the end result. From clean and dry to moisturized, curled, plumped and prepped, nothing heavy on this end. I'm into the whole half a face thing. Hope that changes soon. Pretty soon I'll get into the whole socks and feet thing. !!!! =)



Today I learned: You can't sit back and expect business to come to you otherwise someone will take up your idea and run with it.

Tuesday: Pam ended up in the hospital on Sunday afternoon and its been updates, good news, bad news, sad news, hopeful news. I hurt for Nathaniel, Tim, Mikelle and Devin. I hurt for Larry. I hurt for Jen and Kate. We're still praying and still believing God that His will be done. Things just shouldn't happen this way. We started to head up to Lodi but things took a turn so we decided to come home and wait for news. Still praying...but its been a blue day.



Today I learned: That life is finite.

January 10 & 11, 2009

I was talking to my husband tonight and some what of an interesting point (imo) came up in the conversation. We can read, study, work, learn and have a lot of knowledge about anything--photography, business, life, spirituallity--but at some point it's not enough to just know it all. It has to be applied. I know that sounds so simple and cliche but I realized that it is important to APPLY what I learned about everything and just do it. I KNOW how to eat right, now I just need to do it. I KNOW how to drum up business, now I just need to do it. I KNOW how to pray, now I just need to do it. I KNOW how to be a great wife, now I just need to do it. And I am. And I will. Tomorrow----JUST KIDDING!!!!! LOL.

This weekend I learned: I actually re-learned and am loving that this is one of the first things I learned about marriages and relationships:The way people do things (especially in relation to marriages and how they operate them) is not wrong, its just different. Dr. Emerson Eggerich

My mom confirmed an idea I had been thinking about in expanding my photography. Pets. Everyone loves their pets. I love my Poufy (as yesterday's picture shows)and she has totally become on of the family. We're turning into one of those weird she-has-feelings-so-don't-hurt-them type of families. Never thought I'd do that. Never thought I'd be a vegetarian either though. lol. Below are some of the pics I took of her. I HEART her puppy eyes!! Got some great soft light when I took these. Today I learned: That talent should not be wasted and that giving of that talent should not be a sacrifice.

Not much of a post today and I won't be able to put up my pic for today up until tomorrow because in one minute its tomorrow and I'm tired now. So g'night. Till tomorrow.

ETA: Okay this by far on the most embarrassing pictures and there is no way to make it look good! lol. I am NOT a beautiful sleeper. But it was one of the few pics taken on the 8th! ***grrr....maybe it'll move onto a new page soon! lol But I love my little Poufy. She beyond cute.

Wake up. Work. Have lunch w/Marleen. Come home. Wash car. Get ready for church. Go to church. Wait for Mat to get out of his meeting. Take self portrait. Go home. Sneak some of Denice's cake. Work on site. Write blog. Work on site some more. Go to bed...well actually the go to bed is going to have to wait. But in the meantime:



Today I learned: To be grateful for my situation and for the provision that God has given us. We are so much more fortunate than a lot of the world.

Well I'm proud I kept myself busy today. Washed the dishes, cleaned and dusted my room, worked on some designs. Good day--except Mat is sick (and the biggest baby to boot!!). So I tried to get creative in my self-portrait. Ended up in the bathroom trying to play with exposure and finally ended up using my flash. And yes the flare is photoshopped. Oh well I'll try again tomorrow. I'm missing the sun!!



Today I learned: That I need to always remember that the way I do anything is the way I do everything!

What a day. Won't tell you how much I slept or what time I woke up, but it definitely wasn't a stressful day. **wink, wink** Tonight I went to the first FPU class here in Gilroy. Definitely different that the one we went to at Twin Oaks in San Jose. So we'll see how it goes. It definitely feels good to go through it again though! I love this course, love what it does and how it makes you so much more aware! Stef went with me since Mat was sick. I hope she goes again. In the meantime, this is my self-portrait. Gotta love it right? Who doesn't like pics of boxes??!?



Today I learned: That blindly going through life and hoping everything turns out alright is just plain STUPID!!

The Real January 4th Post

Today was such a long day. And the cold only made it last longer! Down in the 30s right now. Freezing! Yeah the whole "California" thing doesn't apply here in the winters. Although I probably shouldn't be complaining. Another bleak picture day too. Shot in the room next to a computer while editing pics. Today I got to shoot Mikayla and Michelle. They were so much fun and LOVED the camera! This is by far one of my favs from today! I'll be posting more on my sneak peek blog!



Hopefully I'll get to shoot their family soon too! =) And hopefully one day my Project 365 pics will get more interesting! lol. Ta ta!



Today I learned: I chose this life I live and I choose to follow. Not blindly, not half-heartedly. I love Him and it's all worth it!

Okay okay so technically I'm almost three hours in Jan. 4. Good lord I need to go to bed. Procrastination is definitely not an art. We went to BeniHana tonight for Lianna's birthday. It was so much fun! Adult company, adult conversation and I can't believe I'm an adult. Just weird. Since it's almost 3 and I've got to get up in the morning I'm shooting off but here are a few pics from tonight and of course the last one of me for Project 365. Alright. Nighty Night. I left my heart in San Francisco! Okay I didn't. I brought it home with me after hopping around a cool museum in Golden Gate Park and heading over to Union Square to window shop. It was on the way there (not when i woke up at 8 to wait for someone to make breakfast**guilty grin**) that I remembered to take my picture so once again I had to use the **gasp** flash! I hate the flash by the way and can't wait until I get a shoemount flash. 20 more days until my 4th anniversary! =)



Today I learned: Being married isn't hard when you learn to love to give.
